The blurb had me at cold cases. As a true crime addict, I didn’t know if a YA fictional crime book would be enough but it checks all the boxes – and more!
Five teens with unusual abilities, complicated pasts, and very different personalities are thrown together to live under one roof while solving crimes—and somehow become a little family along the way.
Add a twisty murder, plenty of suspense, and a little romance (hello, love triangle!), and I was hooked. I honestly found this YA mystery surprisingly layered and more engaging than some adult mysteries I’ve read. Such a fun, unexpected read!
About the Author
Jennifer Lynn Barnes is the author of more than a dozen critically acclaimed young adult novels. She has advanced degrees in psychology, psychiatry, and cognitive science, including graduate degrees from Cambridge University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar, and Yale University, where she received her Ph.D.
Jen wrote her first published novel when she was nineteen years old and sold her first books while in college. She has written original pilot scripts for television networks like USA and MTV. Jen is one of the world’s leading experts on the psychology of fandom and the cognitive science of fiction and the imagination.
